City council meeting at the 11th hour to vote on final draft of informational flier to be sent to city residents re:Issue 9. But wait, there are 3 drafts, which one are we voting on? A part of this one and a piece of that one, then any amendments. OK, recopy draft so everyone is one the same page. City staff will work all day Fri to get fliers printed,addressed, & in the mail by 4pm. Then we hand it off to the US Post Office for timely delivery. In a perfect world all city residents would have the fliers in their mail box on Mon. & spend quiet time reading the info to make an informed decision.Oh wait, reality check. 1/3 of the residents will receive the info on Mon, toss it on a counter & never look at it again, 1/3 will just toss it,& 1/3 won't even receive it until Wed.May 9. This could be bad,bad,bad. Post it on the city website. Let the inmates out to enjoy the evening. Meeting adjourned!

It was your hard earned tax dollars that's easy for them to flush.

dragging feet
Dragging of feet by the proponents of 9 is what caused the late hour. Must have been the plan all along....drag it out and make it impossible to mail in time. ''Let's not inform the public,'' you said. ''Let's just tell them our point of view...that's all that counts. We don't understand those fancy laws. We should be able to do what we want. We pay taxes so we can make up the rules as we go.'' Why let the public decide for themselves?

The mayor pulled the motions from the meeting last month because he didn't have the votes. He was probably promised he had them for last night and that's why the special meeting was called, but must have had bad intelligence.
How is that the Yes on 9 stalling?
