How does protecting the City of Pickerington's rights to annex parcels of land WITHOUT the township's permission and to protect the RIGHT of the City to conform its boundaries have to do with entering into a JEDD agreement with Canal Winchester, Lancaster, Violet Twp and Bloom Twp?
This does not direct the city to annex nor does it direct the city to conform its boundaries. General annexations will remain the same as always.
The other four parties to the MOU all signed after the proposed Charter amendment was announced and it seemed to have no affect on that decision making of these other signees. The real negotiations will come once they can identify a parcel that is willing to enter into a JEDD agreement. I believe the City of Pickerington will be on a level playing field if their residents pass this charter amendment.
