I am beginning to see what the $224,400 inside millage we send to the trustees each year is being spent on. Posted in their ''newsletter'' is directions for us to the City Web site to read the pros and cons of the issue 9. Mayor Shaver I hope you don't get any ideas about posting the pros and cons of issue 9. If you do please then turn yourself into the Ohio Ethics commission like I read of what you threatened to do in 2002 against the former PIO.
They have for years belittle and bashed the citizens of Pickerington. Yet the hyprocsy of Gary Weltlich shaking hands with David Shaver on the inside page. Please notice that we can see both of Shaver's hands and only one of Weltlich's. I wonder what he is doing that free hand?

Uncle
Went to both sites.
Couldn't find newsletter on Violet site.
Couldn't find pros and cons on city site.
Both are all fluff with pretty pictures.
Especially on economic incentives.
No wonder Canal Pointe is so active. I some hear Pickerington/Violet residents are building their businesses there.
How sad.

It is in the mail
I received a copy of the ?“Violet Voice?” and I think it was in the mail yesterday. I am unsure because my wife came in with the ?“bag?” and the mail at the same time. The ?“Violet Voice?” does have a postage permit number 12 on it.
On the inside page it has a picture of Gary Weltlich and Mayor David Shaver. The photo does look suspect. They also seem to be taking an awful lot of credit for things that the township is not paying for or projects they played minor roles in. Clearly the ?“Township expects to complete IT?’S portion of Diley Road by this spring.?” First we should all understand that this road is in the Village of Canal Winchester and NOT Violet Township. The engineering and the construction of the Diley widening south of Busey is a Canal Winchester project.
Mr. Weltlich seems to indicate that the Meijer store is part of the recently signed MOU. This is actually part of the 2001 CEDA deal signed between Canal Winchester and Violet Township. The new Meijer store will be in the Village of Canal Winchester and this CEDA and its partners have barred Pickerington from participating in it. So when you talk about cooperation don?’t believe it. When you read the Violet Voice note that it is full of distortions and political spin.
I went to both the City and the Township?’s web sites. I found no references to the upcoming issue 9. I am sure there has been a lot of pressure applied to David Shaver to get something on the web site to oppose passage of this charter amendment. I believe I read where Mr. Fix and Mr. Wisniewski are working on a ?“joint?” statement at the Mayor?’s request. We can only assume this is the ?“document?” that Weltlich refers to in his ?“Violet Voice.?”
Here is what the PATA newsletter was saying about the use of the City Web Site in 2003:
?“City Council, the Mayor, and city manager Joyce Bushman all fought hard against the passage of Issues 17, 18, and 19 this past fall. Mayor Hughes wrote passionately in the papers and (illegally) on the City?’s web site against these citizen-led initiatives. When the initiatives passed by an extremely wide margin, Mayor Hughes resigned and the rest of council has been wringing their hands, not sure what to do.?”
Is history repeating itself?
