Yes, an armed/trained student or instructor at VT could have easily saved lives. No question about it. Quite frankly the signs found in virtually all schools, offices and stores banning concealed carry do nothing but deny us the ability to defend ourselves.
I personally have had no law enforcement nor military training and I know for a FACT that had I been in the situation of this passed Monday with a weapon, I would have taken that kid down.
As I said in my first posting on this topic, our society is being forced into worrying about feelings and lawsuits rather than dealing with the real issue. I don't see it... and I plan upon teaching my kids that while they need to respect everyone, they are to stop at nothing in order to survive if found in a VT or Columbine like situation. Throw books, chairs, shoes, or anything they can get their hands on to distract and occupy the attacker. Attack him en masse, the students easily out number these thugs. I plan on teaching my kids that fear can be over come and, in fact, used as a weapon against an assailant.
Ask yourself this... while all kids should be taught to respect and honor their peers and adults, do you want your kids to be sheep or wolves. I already answered this for my kids.
