Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

New but where?

Sounds like Parker

Although I have not heard this latest story I think we shouldn?’t discount it. I know that the former web master used to get some of his best information from sporting events. Many times months in advance of anything happening public. He floated the idea of annexing the North High complex a long time ago.

Anyway I know we all don?’t like the idea of paying taxes but if we want to see responsible commercial growth the community will need to provide some infrastructure. That infrastructure is provided by borrowing power and that borrowing power and those loans are paid back with increased tax revenues. Clearly the City has a higher tax load or base because they can impose income taxes. Maybe our friends at the Township are beginning to figure that out. I know when I sat in on the township zoning commission meeting at Ridgeview there must have been 500 people and the fire department was preventing new people from coming into the room.

Some of the questions that I recall was about the plan for the development and who was to provide the infrastructure like roads and what happens at the Refugee and Hill road intersection? Clearly the trustees blinked on this one.

The property owners I am sure would like to sell their collective properties. Some of these owners are getting up in age and if they want to see the land sell and develop in their life time I would think the only possibility would be for the land to be annexed into Pickerington. I understand they have asked other municipalities to enter into a JEDD like Canal and they were turned down.

I think if the trustees really sit down and did some of the calculations on future tax revenues in the township they would find they could increase the township revenues and improve the Refugee road area to accommodate the big box store. If they could come to the city with a reasonable proposal and allow the annexation to happen the deal could be worked out satisfactorily for all parties. Fix and Shaver are not smart enough to pull off the deal.

No slam here

I didn't intend any slam against Kramer and don't make something up to try to make it sound that way. I am sure he had personal reasons and they are none of my business. I meant more that because there is a seat still vacant after all these months it means Fix and crew are planning something that is contingent on getting one of their puppets in the position.
Amazing

I continue to be truly amazed by some of the people that post on this site. You read something, you dismiss it, ridicule the poster and try to shame them for posting. What I can't figure out are two things. First, why do you bother to read any of this and second, why do you go the extra mile to waste your time and energy to reply to a posting.

Get a life!

I also heard a similar accounting albeit not in the detail that the poster above told it. I also heard it at a sporting event. I mean let?’s face it, local sporting events are the single biggest social occasion we have available to us. It is ?“the?” venue to talk and keep aware of what is going on around here. I heard it from someone I consider to be ''in the know'' on these things because he is a business owner with a huge investment in this area and he became successful by being very in tune with what was happening in the area.

It is not beyond the realm of possibility that this big box deal is still in the works. I mean come on, did any of you wise posters to this site actually know that Lancaster, Canal, Violet and the rest were cooking a deal in the back room while the city?’s issues with Violet were front page articles (read: smoke screen)? No you didn?’t. There are people who are in the know and those that aren?’t. There?’s nothing wrong with that. We all get in the know at some point in time - usually when it is too late to do anything about it.

What you have to consider is that there are a lot of deals in the works behind the scenes. Fix and Shaver and their trustee pals have boldly shoved that in your face. Don?’t discount anything until you have better information. Aren?’t all rumors generally based in fact?
Not a Lap Dog

I have to agree with you about why the positions are not being filled. I was one of those quantified applicants that was willing to donate my time but was passed over because I am not someone's lap dog.

To bad, the city is in dire need of good quality people to help it get through the mess elected officials have put the city into.

Unfortunately people have been elected in to office that only want people to do their bidding and not what is right.

The only way you are going to change that is to get the right people elected into office this November so that the majority vote is not controlled by one.
