Council Prez

Posted in: PATA
Looks like the council president is back to his old tricks. I was reading This Week online today and saw 3 articles where the vote was split very badly. 4-3, 4-3 and 5-2. Looks like he's back to being happy with getting his 4 votes. So much for the ''changed'' Fix. Can't say I'm at all surprised.
Seems so

I ran into a councilperson at the grocery this weekend and apparently he exhausted himself and 4 other councilpeople trading votes to get those results.

Good job Senor Prez. Last thing you need on this council is anyone voting their conscience!
I was wondering

When I saw in ThisWeek that Sauer voted for the $18.5K citizen survey and the $6K ''retreat'' I figured something was up. He's as tight as tight gets, unless he wants to trade votes it appears. He's still Jeff's lap-dog no matter how tough he talks about not being ''Jeff's Boy''.
A second anyone?

I see where the Prez couldn?’t get a second the other day. Fix continues to work the system and it takes some longer than others to get wise to him and his ?“TACTICS?”. The very fact that Fix changed the rules or was the driving force behind the rule changes now he wants to go against the flow once more because his short sighted wisdom goes against him.

The one remaining fact is that the city is facing a severe budget crisis in the coming year and the Prez will ignore it until after the election. I would support the city spending the $18 K if it really knew what they were doing when it comes to running a tax increase. Just surveying the voters is only one small part of running a successful tax increase issue. Clearly based on last November they all have no clue. Half of the council members are now worried about their own butts and getting re-elected and the other half is trying to prevent the first half from getting re-elected. Mean while the city loses and the police force will be reduced sooner rather than later. Sad bunch on council now.
