As we all go to the polls today to vote we should keep in mind the quotes from our dear councilman Jeffery Fix:
It his letter to the editor of the Pickerington Times-Sun:
?“I understand and agree with the principal that residents should have their say and I encourage every eligible resident to vote on this issue. Having said that, issues having to do with development, annexation, and conforming the boundaries are COMPLEX issues that need to be dealt with by the elected officials that have earned the trust of the residents?”
Now from a letter I retrieved from the trash can this morning. Sorry Jeff I thought you were selling me something:
?“We understand that the citizens have a desire to ?“ preserve your rights.?” As a group we are committed to NOT give up the rights to annex land or conform the boundaries except in the case of significant economic development on lands that we do not have the ability to annex anyway. Preserving your rights is important. Securing the economic future is also important. We believe that both will be accomplished if you vote to defeat issue 9.?”
This letter was signed by: The Honorable Mayor David Shaver, The Council President the Honor Keith Smith, Former council president The Honorable Heidi Riggs, and The honorable Jeffery Fix.
Clearly Mr. Fix and his less than a majority of council are either lying in the most recent flyer or they are lying in the flyer that Councilman Sabatino took them to task on. In either case that makes them ??? Keep in mind these four gave up these rights in January in an official city council vote on the Master Development agreement. Now they say the are committed to NOT give up those rights. Can giving away HALF of the city?’s future income taxes be part of the millions in commercial taxes we were giving up? Why would the City and the Township invest millions into infrastructure from the Franklin County border down to Lancaster? None of that area will benefit the PLSD. To lower our taxes we must get relief for the school district. That means slower residential growth and that residential growth must be in higher end housing market.
I am sure one of the reasons we have not seen a Hoggy?’s around here is that they don?’t want to build roads.
