Someone should ask Rocco Sabatino what he would be allowed on his corner, the northeast corner.

Northeast Corner
Word is ... SuperAmerica is coming to the NE corner of that intersection. As a homeowner who lives along Refugee Road, I'm simply delighted that more gas tankers are going to rumble along that road and through residential development. There is no such thing as ''zoning'' in this town. Let's just let anyone build anything anywhere they want. Fair enough? |

Who's holding the bag?
The problem here is that the township does zoning and very little else. They use deed restrictions and those could get us all in a lot of trouble over time. If you do live in Mingo for example you can't change the zoning of those residents with driveways on Refugee because the sub-division. I think they tried that a few years ago on the 256 side of the sub-division. So the problem is that if something comes in that is acceptable for the zoning district and it may be unacceptable for the area and the residents that live close. Not to mention the High School down the road. So how does the township plan to take care of the other problems that result from say high traffic volume or an increase in crime (i.e. the woman that robbed the Subway shop three time in May). Our wonderful Trustee claim this commercial property is ''FREE'' money. Free to WHOM? Now the plan is to go into a JEDD with Canal Winchester because they have the 2% income tax. Please think for one moment that if the residents of Pickerington where asked to provide infrastructure money for a site in the Canal School district wouldn't the city ask for a higher return and I am sure the city would take very little responsibly for the site once it is developed. Any problems would need to be addressed by the locals with a reduced income to deal with the problems. By Snipe Hunters |

Run for Mayor
When is John Ricketts going to run for Mayor? He's already got the city and the township jumping through his hoops, he may as well get paid for it. |
