Lets take a look at the wording of something the Mayor said in the recent Times-Sun article...
''Unfortunately the people who found the documents never bothered to call me first, but called the local news media instead,'' he said.
Granted the ''newspaper man'', David Owen, that wrote this aricle is complete and utter fool, are we to assume the based upon this statement that there is some sort of conspiracy brewing against Shaver by his former neighbors in the village? It's unclear why Owen would allow the Mayor to make such a claim without any sort of follow up. The woman that now owns the Mayors old law office has stated repeatedly that she tried to contact him again and again to come and take the items off the premises. So why is the Mayor now pointing the finger at others?
This issue is far from done. An investigation has been started and the some of the former clients of Shaver whose names, addresses, phone numbers and social security numbers found on those documents have already contacted lawyers as well as the American Bar Association. How do we know this you ask? A member of the Citizens Against Shaver group is one of the those former clients.
