Reappraisal question

Posted in: PATA
Not that old

I'm old, but not that old. I helped my parents apply for the new increased exemption. A form had to be filled out stating that the homeowners were older than 65 or permanently disabled. This exemption doesn't take effect until 2008. Even with this, my parents' reappraisal went up (both land & bldg) I am just not understanding the wide variations in the values. I tried calling the # on the card that was sent out, got a busy signal for a week. When I finally did get through 10 days later, they advised me to attend the meeting on 7/30 or 7/31 @ Harmon Middle School.

Not that old, huh...

Come on, old dogs really CAN learn new tricks! :-)

A big one that people sometimes miss is the owner-occupied credit. It's not automatic - you gotta TELL the auditor's office!
