I heard from a reliable source that Councilwoman Heidi Riggs is running for Mayor against David Shaver. Apparently taking advice from Brian Wisniewski that someone should oppose Mayor Shaver. I also see that Brian Wisniewski has made it clear on his web site that he is running for council. The fix is in.

So after being appointed by David Shaver in 2003 Mrs. Riggs is now the force to drive David Shaver from office. After losing her state job it appears she wants to stay in the public eye and add to her retirement. Being Mayor is much easier than council in that you don?’t have to understand a thing and there is no home work. Voting on issues that affect us all can be passed off to the members of council. As I hear it told, Jeffery Fox (I meant Fix) will be the little man behind the Mayor. I think he has hopes of continuing his roll as chief negotiator for the City with our neighbors. Wasn?’t he the guy that has wasted an entire year and a half on agreements that were NEVER approved by anyone?

Jeffery wants to challenge Judy Shupe for County Commissioner next year in the REPUBLICIAN primary. I am sure he will be mighty hungry to get something on his resume between now and then. What city rights or tax money will he be willing to send to the township in exchange for their vote?

I understand that the Mayor had a prior commitment and couldn?’t attend the last council meeting. Will he be willing to face the press this evening and the person getting ready to run him out of office?

A real head scratcher

What would their opposing platforms be? They have been in lockstep for virtually the last 5 years. What could they say to the voters to be able to tell the difference?

Personally (and I know both these people and supported and campaigned for them) I would choose neither. We need someone who can think for themselves and is not yet another puppet with the trustees' and fix's hands up their backs.

Please tell me thes aren't the only two candidates!

Riggs was not appointed by Shaver. She was elected.

Just ask her and she'll tell you - SHE WAS THE HIGHEST VOTE GETTER!!!!

She's worthless. Hey, if you knew any of the Exxon staff, ask them what they think of her.

Hey, if you know any of the officers that have dealt with people close to her, ask them what they think of her.

GO SHAVER!! You got my vote. At leaset you admit to your shortcomings and deal with them. You're not as false fased as Miss Pretty.

How about we wait to see what their campaign issues are and debate those issues. Let's stop the petty personal attacks now before they gain any traction?
