Where was Everyone?
I didn't quite see the turnout of people that were hell-bent on asking the 'hard hitting' questions to these candidates. My thoughts: The reason Fix, Riggs, et al are 'in power,' as it is stated on this board, is because those that don't agree with them are content to sit at home in their mom's basement on their Commodore 64 bashing these candidates on a message board. Instead of 1.) knocking on doors, 2.) distributing literature and 3.) making calls at a phone bank for their opponents. I pose the question to each of you in firm belief that their defeat is vital to our community...how much time have you spent on the above three action items for the other candidates? Change occurs from mobilized voters taking action. That's how these people you are so against got elected in the first place. They out-planned and better executed their campaign strategy. That's how you win an election, get the votes from the apathetic, ill-informed voter...out hustle your opponent. In short what Urban Meyer did to Jim Tressel...plain and simple. These message board posters are pointing out the strengths and weaknesses of the candidates to a very limited audience on this chalkboard...errr...message board (Tressel). Those that you want to see defeated are executing on the field...errr...streets (Meyer). I haven't seen a single letter to the editor regarding any of the topics on this message board. And while I don't agree with some of the points, they are very well researched, thought out and substantiated. Take you message to the public or continue to wallow in the pool of misery some of your seem to always be in. By Observer |
