Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

anybody but these people

Posted in: PATA
I guess at this stage we can call this the ?“IF you can?’t dazzle them with brilliance baffle them with B.S.?” group.

First one off of the Fix Foursome that is running for Mayor. HEIDI RIGGS.

One of her innovations is WiFi What in the heck is that Heidi? How does that lower our taxes and control growth?

Then the Senior advisory commission. Who pays for that? How does that lower our taxes and control growth?

Don?’t forget the youth corps. Some how this program will teach our kids responsibility and community involvement. How does that lower our taxes and control growth?

Then we have the school teacher Tricia Sanders. She wants to build a Rec Center. Cost of about $18 Million and our current parks are not good enough for her. She compares our parks system to Groveport and wants what they have. Does she also want the same school system? What will this cost us average Joes in property taxes? How does that lower our taxes and control growth?

Then our savior Bob Blair. A REAL LEADER. Bob where in the heck were you these last dozen years? Our growth was killing us and you were busy leading cities across Ohio in increased job opportunities and wasteful spending. While Pickerington saw uncontrolled growth during your over twenty years living here in the community you sat on your butt and did nothing and said nothing and now you are an expert on everything. By they way I received your post card and it said you were a former City Manager. Come on Bob let?’s try the truth. That only City Managers that Pickerington has have woren skirts. You?’re not Joyce are you? How does that lower our taxes and control growth?

Then we have Brian Sauer the sewer plant expert. Here again you see the Jeff Fix influence by saying he lived in Pickerington for 28 years. Actually he has only lived in Pickerington 3 years. He supports giving away most of our taxes and still thinks we can cut our taxes. So guys where is the fat in the Pickerington budget? I am sure the real experts in the City and its consultants would like to know. Are you planning to cut the police department back? I seem to remember Fix saying that we were 6 police officers short and how we couldn?’t pave our streets and we couldn?’t afford a recreation Center like we all desired.

Fix needs these knuckleheads to be on council so he can sell us all down the drain and subsidize the township. They are puffing up their resumes and trying to make you all believe they will be able to pave the streets with gold once they get access to the millions of dollars floating around the township. I am sure we will all be standing lookout at City Hall on November 7th to watch the millions of dollars loaded in dump trucks backing up to the front door if the Fix Foursome wins.

Please remember that Heidi and Jeff voted to give away HALF of your income taxes last year to the township. Then by May they were wanting to rescind their poorly thought out decision.

Remember what got them into this position was they ignored the staff and the experts the council pay big bucks to. If you think Fix has learned his lesson you are wrong he believes more than ever that he is right and he is running four outside experts for council to prove that this election. They each have their specialty.

Why I won't vote for Riggs

Do you realize that had the Shaver/Riggs/Fix/Township driven Master Economic Agreement gone into effect, the 3 acre JEDD/Annexation/Cooperation that was finally approved, the city residents be would paying the 'other gov't agency' involved 30-35% more!!!

Good job to those who stood up against the original draft...Wisnewski, Hackworth, Barletta. We appreciate you from letting Riggs from getting our pockets picked again. Re-read the papers on line and see who defended what positions.

The voting public should see that the No Vote on 9 was the correct vote. All the yes on 9 voters, we hope your waking up from the Riggs's poor leadership.

screwed again

Speaking of the three acres. Why is the city taxpayers now going to share 20% their income tax revenues with the township on this three acre tract of land?

Related to the above question. Can anyone tell me how much money the township taxpayers spent to make that property worth developing into office space?

Did the township spend any money to build a sewer plant, widen Diley Road or provide municipal water to the property?

They claim they spent $5,000 to rezone the land from residential to suburban office. Then they asked for and received reimbursement from the city on that $5,000.

So in affect the City is getting stuck with all of the expenses and they must pay for an eternity 20% of the income taxes received for that property.

That is the biggest rip off I have ever heard of. This is even worse than when the city was giving away the store to the developers. I get the feeling that David Shaver was the leader in this effort. I won't miss his lack of leadership come next year. I have been embarrassed for years now with his antics. This will be his legacy and that is the Mayor of the Township. He should NEVER seek another public office.

I only hope that his hand picked successor Heidi Riggs fails to ever get elected.

You are Right

We were screwed again. Who did it to us Shaver and Fix along with his puppets. Another reason Heidi would be a poor choice for mayor, look at her city council record. She is not able to think for herself and needs to be guided. We sure do not need any more sheep, there seems to be plenty of those already.

And just think council is promoting this 3.3 acre deal as the great partnership with the township while giving even more of our tax dollars away.

Hats off to Ted Hackworth and Christi Hammond that voted against this agreement because they knew it was not right.
