I'm so pumped up for the Picktown Lights! Are they happening this year?

I enjoy it more than the Zoo lights...and the neighbors actually hang out in the cold. I suppose the hot toddies help ;-)

Picktown Lights

Rob LaRe is the guy (homeowner) who coordinates the amazing light show called Picktown Lights.

I emailed him to see when the show begins this year. He said that once he has a better grasp on how things are shaping up, he?’ll update the website with dates and times.

For those of you who have never been, this light show is simply amazing. An entire street in the Park Place West area lights up the sky in celebration of the season.

The extravaganza has been featured not just locally, but nationally as well (write-up in the New York Times last year).

Make sure you and your family check this out this year. You will not regret it!

They are nice

We tried a couple of years ago to drive by on Christmas Eve. Traffic was backed up on Refugee Rd. with people trying to get onto Hines Rd.

It took us 30 minutes stuck on Refugee just to get to the Hines Rd. intersection. There was no way we were going to wait in that mess.

My question is what do the rest of the residents think in your area? I for one would be put off if it took me an hour to get home from Refugee & Hines if I lived in the neighborhood.
