Your right
The incorporated township (the city, that is; those of us who overpay into the trustee legal/welfare fund) is only approximately 8.5 itsy bitsy square acres and the unincorporated township(urban sprawl in its purest form) is approximately 34 square miles. Can you help me with the math on that. Sorry. We city folk ain't be so book smart.
And those little 8+ acres, information the auditor's site also has, provide 80 some percent of the commercial dollars to the school district? Could you help with the math on that again.
So the ''township'' provides more than 50% of the kids to the schools, less than 20% of the commercial tax dollars, no impact fees per new home built, no parks fees per home built, no help for the police department funding and you don't get it? Gosh, there's that math thing again.
We'll pay the lion's share of Diley Road improvements. And even do a JEDD to give the township some of the income tax. In the spirit of cooperation, you know. Since you fellas can't or won't tax it yourselves. Oh yea, no sewer and water over there for you guys either. Don't worry, we'll pick up that tab, too.
We'll pay for our own sewer and water plants, and a portion of the money we pay in our property taxes goes towrd YOUR county sewer and water plants. Oh yea, and we help pay for the sheriff's department and the county parks you enjoy.
Drive on into the city shop... gas up...watch a parade...hang out at the ball fields or skate parks... and oh yea, enjoy it all at no cost.
Although you could gas up at the new Kroger, if you want to take a chance in that wild and crazy parking lot.(YES!! Welcome to the 21st century! There's now a gas station, yes ''a'' as in one, in the township.) How come no JEDD on that new Kroger site? There was sewer and water there already, so no cooperation was needed there. And no income tax sharing either. I got it now.
Psssst. Hey Jeff. Watch your back on that land in the south where the millions and millions of tax dollars are. They've got sewer and water down there. Just like at Canal Pointe. And that new Kroger. Plus Canal's income tax is 2 percent. Won't the trustees want to split 2 percent rather than 1 percent? Is that why there's rumblings to raise the city income tax to 2 percent? Shhhhhhh. Don't let all this sneak out.
By the way, nice job on the design of that new Kroger parking lot. What is that design called? Islands of Death or Whew, That was Close? Who is responsible for that? Fairfield Regional Planning? Violet Township P & Z? Did the trustees sign off on that? Sorry, can't blame this one on the city.
So, brother townshipian, can you spare a dime? I think you probably can. I want to call you pinhead, but that would be...just mean spirited.
I would say your welome, but that's usually preceeded by a thank you first.
By You definately don't get it
