Just Curious...
...why you pointed out Dave (Fairfield Christian Church) Smalley, but didn't feel the need to attach the same label to Kyle Farmer?

Dave
Probably because of Daves public posistion with the church. He is in the paper as their spokesperson.

Leadership
Well I guess you are right both are or were members of the Church. Mr. Smalley is deeply involved in the operation of the church. He has been very political and he has had some controversially behavior in Lancaster politics for years now. I am not aware of his current position with the church but he is normally playing a spokesman's role and I believe he is on the board of directors for the school.
Kyle Farmer is a member of the church at my last check. I believe you will find that the congregation recently split and I am not sure where Kyle ended up on that front. I do know that he was been critical of the church's role in the most recent governors election.
The involvement of the church members is less of a problem to me than the pastor and the leadership of the church deeply involved in the political process. Clearly using tax exempt funds to influence elections and the issue of church and state all leave a bad taste in most people's mouth. For Mr. Smalley I think he should remove himself from the Republcian Leadership or the church's leadership.

Being too full of themselves
It appears that the Republicans in the County are losing support for their cause. There are a few problems pointing at the leadership of the party. In the past there was some serious corruption within the party's candidates (DeMastry and McAuliffe). The logical conclusion was that the party leaders MUST be corrupt. Now a more serious problem is arising in that the pure pearly white virgins that took over a coupled of years ago now are turning on each other and their own repubublicans. It was a coalition of the religious right and the inflated ego groups. They have turned their backs on fellow republicans all in the name of ''I am better than you'' type of philosophy.
I believe the party had some big looses this past week and this will continue as long as the party has a policy of attaching its own party members. Going into a presidential election year the party will fail to deliver whom ever to be the Republican candidate for President.
I think it is a simple case of being too full of themselves.
