Meeting Minutes
I can't wait to see the meeting minutes from all of this.
From the city's website I see this contract was NOT on the agenda for council mtg on the 20th, but it was on a special Finance committee meeting that same night.
Based on what I'm piecing together Finance must have passed this out of their 6:30 meeting and then they added it to the Council agenda for 7:30? So our crackpot financial vice presidents thought this was a good idea at 6:30 but not at 7:30?
This will make for great reading I'm sure once the minutes are online.

Leadership; has been the issue.
Shaver was unelectable because of his on the field and off the field actions. Riggs may have thought she would be an effective quarterback, but the team of Pickerington voters thought different. I feel Mr. Smith has been a terrible disappointment as a captain. The rookies were hungrier and worked harder than Mr. Hackworth. Mr. Fix has proven, in my opinion, he'll side with the opponent. Our team manager has been looking to be hired by another team for months, probably approaching years now. What leadership message does that send? They've hired fancy, expensive agents.(Laywers) They've hired extra financial advisers. The only guys I see strong on defense are Mr. Wisniewski and Mr. Sabatino. Mrs. Hammond got fed up with the offensive performance of her team's leadership, and moved to defense. I hope the 2008 draft picks of Sanders ans Sauer don't come in on their heels. I have a lot of faith in our new GM, Mr. O'Brien. I'm gonna bet he scores alot of defensive points.

Taxes will be raised.
Dear Between
You may think the leadership of Mitch O'Brien will be the saving grace of this budget crisis. The fact is that Mitch won't be driving the boat. He has no vote and the majority of council will be out to undermined him. As of September Fix was still giving away the city's tax dollars to the township apparently either he didn't care or wasn't aware of the debt crisis loaming ahead in 2008. Fix lost Heidi only to replace her with two other air heads that will follow his lead.
I have copies of the web site and the campaign literature of both of the replacements (Sauer and Sanders) on council. Neither are up to the challenge. You only have to ask yourself where were these people when the growth and over crowding of our schools was such an issue. Sauer never seemed to find the time to show up at one meeting a month let alone 4 or 5 meetings now on his agenda.
Clearly if the chairman of Finance (Keith Smith and the Vice Chair Fix) were not aware of the debt crisis and they claim to be big shots in huge businesses then how are a couple of rookies going to get a handle on the problem. Remember Sanders is a union member with the PEA. How in the world is she going to support laying off people or denying them a raise. Union people don't think that way. If she votes to lay off or deny raises then how does she face her co-workers who never say never. She was put into office to build a Rec. Center. Beyond that she is done.
Sauer has been active on a couple of commissions at the city but I doubt he has any vision for what needs to be done. He followed a script and worked hard to get elected. He was endorsed by Weltlich and I think he firmly believes he will strike a deal that will bring in Millions to the city. He pledged NOT TO RAISE TAXES. He claims all of the wealth is along 33 just like Gary told it was. Little does he know. Sanders and Sauer will be Fix puppets. None of them have the guts to cut expenses and challenge the Police Chief. They will raise your taxes in the end.
They will first try to persuade us all to pass the police levy. That will free up general fund money so they can send more money to the township. The tax payers will have a crisis on their hands soon after the first of the year when the Fix candidates are seated.

You know folks they have a council work session this evening at 6:30 PM at City Hall. If you really want to hear the details it probably would be a good idea to attend.
