Weltlich information misleading

Posted in: PATA
Found the Lancaster Eagle Gazette....

To the Editor:
I have received in the mail two or three pieces of campaign literature from Gary Weltlich, a Republican candidate for county commissioner in the upcoming primary election. In each piece, Weltlich touts his experience by stating that he has been '' ... elected to three consecutive terms as a township trustee by satisfied Fairfield County residents.'' Although not categorically false, I find these statements to be somewhat misleading. Why doesn't Weltlich inform those of us who do not reside in Violet Township that he has been elected by Violet Township residents, not by satisfied residents of all of Fairfield County? Does Weltlich not want the voters to know where he has been a trustee? Surely, if Weltlich were proud of his record as a Violet Township Trustee, and if he thought that the Fairfield County voters who do not live in Violet Township were in agreement with the policies he has pursued in that position, he would want us to know where he has served.

Oh, and before you get through this -- GREAT JOB MAYOR O'BRIEN!!! I heard he cut Wetlich's shill off at the knees over the ''minion'' statement so fast that the peanut gallery jumped. I doubt that hack will ever get a chance to speak in Pickerington Council Chambers again.

Now when I think of cooperation and regionalism, O'Brien's picture comes to mind. Can it be that for the first time in the modern age that a Mayor has decided to begin regionalism through courtesy and respect?? Can it be that our boy Shrek's (Weltlich) bully tactics have been upstaged by courtesy and respect??

Say it ain't so!

The attorney for Violet TWP is in fact attacking Bill Arnett from the County because he spoke out against the JEDD. The attorney who works for Weltlich through the TWP is in fact doing the exact same thing that he accused Arnett of doing. ''Being a minion'', it's just that he's doing it for his candidate so that's ok!

Mr. Shuler misquotes Mr. Weltich. Mr. Weltich did not say ''all'' Fairfield countians, Mr Shuler did. I think anything Mr. Shuler has to offer after starting his arguement with false claim should be examined with extreme caution at best.

This ''tax'' is in the form of a JEDD he's proposing along RT 33. It's basically a money grab on any new commercial land around 33 where he wants everyone else to pay for the infrastructure while the TWP gets the lion's share of the revenue generated while they contribute nothing.

Lancaster is a part of this proposed JEDD as well. Do you want your $ being spent on projects 10-15 miles outside your borders where your ROI is going to be a pittance?

He ran unopposed the last 2 elections so it's a huge stretch to say he was elected by ''satisfied Fairfield County residents''. It just means that no one had the $ to run against an incumbant that's been sitting on his cash for 8 years waiting to spend on his campaign.

I can tell you that even though he was the only person on the ballot for TWP trustee I did NOT vote for him.

He was just ''re-elected'' and now he's running for commissioner barely 2 months have taking the oath of office?

There's a little background for you.

I'm not saying either of the Republican County Commissioners on the ballot are worth voting back into office again either, but I doubt Gary's the one I'd want to replace them.

Has anyone actually met this Weltlich guy? Look up what Violet township residents are saying about that new tax he is pushing up there.

Hot Air bag

It appears that Mr. Weltlich took his act one step too high this time. His authoritarian approach to everything he does seems to be getting some scrutiny now and I think more people realize that his more about hot air than any thing of substance.
