Utterback accepts position as a Kent State University director
PICKERINGTON ?— Pickerington Local Schools Treasurer, Vince Utterback, will resign effective April 10, 2008 to accept a position as the Business Affairs and Operations Director at Kent State University.
''Vince has done an outstanding job, we wish him the best and appreciate his many contributions and service to Pickerington Local Schools,'' said Board of Education President Wes Monhollen.
During Utterback's 14-year career at Pickerington, the district enrollment grew from 5,435 students to more than 10,000 students today. He helped lead the district through a number of successful ballot issues including the $59.9 million bond issue to construct three new schools opening during the 2009-10 school year and both the 5-mill replacement and 7.9-mill renewal operating issues approved by voters earlier this school year.
The board will immediately conduct an extensive search to fill the vacant position.
''The board will search out and select a highly qualified candidate that will help to financially lead this district,'' said Monhollen. The board has asked Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) to conduct an expedited search for the district's new Treasurer. If a permanent replacement is not available by April 10, the board will name an Interim Treasurer to address basic operations of the Treasurer's Office.
