newbie question...allen road.

Posted in: PATA
ok, i confess, i'm new to the whole fairfield county, violet township, lancaster, pickerington thing.

but... can some one explain to me why there are two allen roads less that a mile apart from each other? how and why did that happen? when giving directions, how do you distinguish between the two?

thanks.
The Big ''L''

In the beginning, before U.S. 33 in the late 60s Allen road started at Stemen road and went south. Down around U.S. 33 it did a 90 degree turn to the east and connected up to Carroll Northern. This formed a giant ''L''. When they build U.S. 33 they cut the corner off of the ''L'' and created two access points for Allen road on U.S. 33 and many have questioned it ever still. Once the interchanges are completed or close to completion I expect ODOT to connect the two legs of the Allen Road ''L'' and build a service road parallel to U.S. 33. This will finely eliminate the confusion.
