I read in the ''This Week'' newspaper that Councilman Sauer is opposed to raising taxes. But in an article on the left side of the front page was the approval of the JEDD agreement which will allow the township to impose a 2% income tax on the workers in the JEDD area. Isn't Pickerington 2% income increase pretty much restricted to those that work in the city?
So we have a councilman that is caught between a 2% income tax in the township that he supports and a 2% income tax in the city that he opposes.
Is Sauer only conservative within the city limits? Is Sauer proposing that the township cut their JEDD 2% income taxes to 1% in ten years? I don't think so.
Sounds like a hypocrite to me. Or someone that hasn't clearly thought out his political positions. To cover for his ignorance he is grandstanding at the expense of the responsible members of council.
