You left out one...
Alan Greenspan discussed it in his book, too.
Stop wasting your time trying to introduce a topic here that isn't well-vetted in the echo chamber of corporate media.
We're surrounded by idiots.
Yes, I am an elitist.
The ''war'' is about oil.

You left one out, too.
Al Gore's book, Earth in the Balance. He wanted to raise gas $3.50 a gallon to research alternative fuels. Where would the average guy be after 7 years of his TAX?
The goverment would still be fighting over how to spend the money or have another layer of government burning up the money. Or spending it on social security or welfare.
And if the government did find an alternative fuel, they'd be telling us what kind of car we could drive. That's why the private sector gives us freedom of choice. Ask any Soviet immigrant. They often mention they are overwhelmed with selection at grocery stores versus their mother land.
We're surrounded by bureaucrats, I guess it's the same as idiots.
I am not an elitist, just a blue collar person getting the job done.
Oil is security. Ask the Japanese. The blocking of oil shut down their country in WWII. That's why liberals don't want us to be energy independant. They don't want the US secure. If you don't think it can't happen here, that is the thinking that separates the two major parties.
Yes, please don't introduce topics here that aren't well vetted in the echo chamber of liberal media.

And that means...
You think the war was about oil?

It means
No, the war wasn't about oil.
We didn't go to war for oil when our two embassies were attacked in Africa. We didn't go to war for oil when they bombed the USS Cole. We didn't go to war for oil when they attacked U.S. soil in New York city. We then stood up for ourselves. Not for oil. For our own protection.
If we had not, we would have been attacked on U.S. soil again. And it could still happen again. God willing, it won't. I know for certain exactly how I felt on Sept. 11th. and it had nothing to do with oil. I doubt oil was on the President's mind on Sept. 11th at 10:00 a.m. I'd say it was about protecting us from weapons of mass destruction. What would be next? Was there more to come in the next minutes, hours, days, weeks? Think about it...what a burden to carry.
Where were those who took credit? Afghanistan. Who in the world appeared as the next biggest threat? Iraq. They had used ''gas'' (WMD's) on their own citizens. A logical second step to stop potential aggression. And remember IRAQ was blocking U.N. inspectors from doing their jobs, and yet the U.N. would not take action.
Yet the media told us their were no A.Q. there. What I don't get is people believing there were no A.Q. in Iraq yet at the drop of the hat this was about oil.
AS Dennis Miller puts it, the job of the President was to be a first guesser, not a second guesser. And I too, on my first guess, would have gone to Iraq to protect the U.S. citizens from the hope Iraq did not have WMD's nor A.Q.
