I understand that there is a new Pickerington School Board member. His name is Robert Lopez. Does anyone know who he is or anything about him?

And this is all I know

Pickerington board fills opening
Robert Clayton Lopez, an attorney and father of two, will join the Pickerington school board.

Lopez, 33, replaces Gail Oakes, who resigned last month because of the sale of her home. Oakes was originally elected to the board in 1997. The remainder of her unexpired term ends 2009.

?“We are excited to have Robert as a member of the board,?” said board President Wes Monhollen. ?“His leadership and collaborative reasoning skills will be great assets to our community as the board moves forward with the important business of this district.?”

He and his wife, Shannon, have lived in the area for six years. They have a daughter at Diley Middle School and a ten-month old son.

Lopez was among 25 who applied for the seat. He will be sworn in at the May 12 meeting.

I'm glad it's someone whose kids are going to be headed into Pickerington Central High School. We need all the Tigers on the Board we can get.

More schools to be built?

I am wondering about the ten year master plan and will the district be required now to build all of the schools it listed? Will this master plan change now that growth has slowed? Will they continue to plan to build that High School even if it is not needed? I know we are in the process of spending up to $70,000,000 and with only $10,000,000 the state will send $80,000,000 our way if it is still available.
