Is there a way to tell if the new city income tax collection outsourcing has been/ will be successful, worse than before, or neutral?

Just curious...

What I know

This is based on the city I last lived in and we had RITA.

Pickerington - Always talk to or meet with a human

RITA - Always get a website or tedious telephone tree

Pickerington - make a mistake and they contact you to work through correcitons personally

RITA - letters, threats and referrals to website and downloading lots of forms

Someone threw out a number that this city would save $20-60K by outsourcing.

BUNK!!

Rita themselves will tell you that IF there are any savings they can't begin to be calculated until after the first full year of collections.

This is a wish and a prayer. There is no proof that we will ever save money and may in fact end up paying more.
