Heeeeer's your tax increase

Posted in: PATA
2008 Water-$2.72 per 1k gallons up to 12k gallons
$4.18 per 1k gallons after that.
2009 Water-$3.07 per 1k gallons up to 12k gallons
4.72 per 1k gallons after that.

So that's only 35 cents. A MERE 13%.
So that's only 64 cents. And 13% more again.

2008 Sewer-18.23 for the first 3k gallons
- 6.08 per 1k gallons thereafter.
2009 Sewer-21.69 for the first 3k gallons
- 7.23 per 1k gallons thereafter.

So that's a MERE 19%!!

Shut down the tax department, move an employee to utilities and raise the rates to the citizens.

You voted down a tax increase and they just gave you one anyway. Didn't Brian Sauer campaign on a no new taxes line of crap?

By Thank you, City Council
The county

You can thank the past 1999'ish to early 2000's administration.

They raided the general fund to pay for water and sewer for years then they waived impact fees on new development, fees which would have supported the water and sewer infrastructure.

Now you pay for the develope'rs carpetbagging!

The county has an automatic 3 percent increase per year no matter what. Those who have been county customers for some time have seen their rates rise more than 60% over 20 years. We do not like this but it does pay for the system that we use. Talk about freeloading... I think those that warned about developer freeloading in the past were right.
Rate increases

The rate increases were voted on 2-3 years ago and would be going up considerably for the first 5 years. This isn't anything new that was passed after the tax levy failed.

Mr. Snyder moved to recommend a water rate increase of 13 percent as reflected in the report provided to the Committee, and a sewer rate increase of 19 percent as shown in Option B; Mr. Wright seconded the motion. Mr. Walburn stated he would still like to consider an increase in the surcharge for outside municipality customers as a separate issue. Mr. Snyder stated he would like to have a listing of outside users at the next Committee meeting. Roll call was taken with Mr. Wright, Mr. Snyder, Mr. Sauer, and Mr. Walburn voting ?“Yea.?” Motion passed, 4-0.
