Saw in the Sun Times that Bd of Ed granted a moving allowance of up to $8500 for the treasurer to move here from Westerville. Is this standard procedure for school administrators? In this economy, that seems pricey to me. Are they required to live in the school district?

I think that's too much, too
I also saw the article. The amount and the reason for spending $8500 seems like the kind of logic from the school board that leaves the voters with the impression that they, while they say they are good stewards of our taxes, really aren't. Most public employers do not provide moving expenses.
People remember this kind of free-wheeling spending when they go to the polls. The school board is already setting us up for another tax increase request.
I know school board members read this site. Maybe they can try to explain why it costs $8500 to move what amounts to across town????

Speed limit flashers are out!!
While the board is giving away tax dollars maybe someone once in a while would look at the flashers for the SCHOOL ZONE on Long Road. Of the four flashers three are not working.
I know that only reduces the speeds by 5 MPH but it does warn drivers that kids could be present.
