School Levy Letter Pt. 3
So many questions and so little time. Vote NO next month. Let's get answers to these questions and all the questions I hope these stimulate. Ask, ask, and ask some more. Make our elected Big Three and their (unfortunately) non-elected boss accountable to us for our money. Make them prove to us that they have exhausted every option before sticking their hands in our wallets again. Do the right thing. If resignations are going to be called for, let's call for the culprits' resignations. Or better yet, let's look at a recall election of the Big Three spendthrifts and their boss. Or should it be the boss and his three disciples? I can't tell who works for whom but none of them seem to be working for us. Since we're now a ''big city'', let's, for once, adopt a ''big city'' attitude. Stop electing a School Board. Let's hire one. At least then, if they behave in the manner that the Big Three so often does, we can fire them. Instead of the Big Three voting to give their boss a raise in salary, let's charge them with finding a suitable replacement for him as soon as possible. Someone who has the experience needed in Pickerington. Someone that is from the likes of Hilliard, Dublin, Westerville or some other place that has experienced exponential growth and managed to lead the District without patting himself on the back with one hand and reaching in my wallet with the other.
These people work for us folks. We're the boss. We pay them. We elected them and even reelected some of them. Make your voices heard. Ask them questions and demand answers. Write them letters. Attend their (our) meetings. Remember what they stand for when you vote either for them or their issues.
I would normally take this opportunity to close with apologies to those that I might have offended through sarcasm, innuendoes or finger pointing. But I won't apologize this time. Big Three, if you want to play poker with the taxpayers in the Pickerington School District, the pot is $77,000,000. We call. Show us ALL your cards!
