COOPERATIVE?…..Economic Development Agreement. Congratulations to Violet Township and Canal Winchester on their COOPERATIVE venture. Way to go. Mr. Postage and Dr. Yocum, guess what? It's none of your business! Don't waste newsprint voicing your outrage and sorrow over something that you could have had nothing to do with anyway. It's their School District. Get it? Theirs. I know how hard it must be to accept that you don't have total control of the Township Trustees or that you can't influence Canal Winchester to see things your way.
Mr. Postage, before you publicly state ''They cut our throats, and got in bed with someone else behind everyone's back.'' check to see that no one in Council's bed has tried to steal your covers.
Dr. Yocum, please realize that Violet Township borders many other communities and school districts that Pickerington hasn't seized yet. They are not only within their rights to establish CEDAs with those communities, they should be encouraged by the residents to do so. Don't you realize that the City Council will sell you out in a heartbeat if it suits them? Violet and Pickerington will never merge, have CEDAs, JEDDs, Grannies or Jethros or anything as long as the current regime is in power. They will play upon the heartstrings of the citizens using the schools as a tool, IF it suits them. They'll throw you out the window like yesterday's wash water if that suits them, too. They will only annex at the highest density possible. They will only adversely impact our schools. They have no intention of EVER entering into any mutual agreements with anyone that they don't have total control over. Mutual is not in their vocabulary. There will never be any sort of light industrial or beneficial commercial development in Pickerington that could benefit the Schools. The residential developers say no and the Council is their mouthpiece.
When you come back to us next year with a request for us to pass another levy, which you will, please remember who overcrowded the schools. It wasn't us.
