For our one hundred-year commitment, do we get cooperation and consideration worthy of the price? This is the question one might ask in light of the CEDA agreement between Canal Winchester and the Violet Township Trustees. There is no picking on anybody but the poor landowners of the CEDA area. It is now quite obvious that some of them do not want to be involved as the new annexations announce. The hostile part is excluded, of course. If they do not want to be involved, why should Canal Winchester Village, Violet Township Trustees, or anyone else force them into this? No matter what they want to do with their land, they are being forced into somebody else?’s square peg.
If I remember properly, the Northeast Violet Township Civic Association was formed due to a similar cause. Wasn?’t Trustee, Gary Weltlich, involved in that before he became elected? Maybe this CEDA is a diversion to move the industrial development away from the homesteads of our own Trustees and to another location. You already know how hard one of them will fight to keep it out of his own back yard!
In addition to all of that, has anybody realized yet that we, Violet Township residents would not have any financial responsibility for the roadways involved in the inevitable annexation of the Pifer property without the CEDA? Why do our Township Trustees want to burden us so badly? Why should this old man?’s hard earned tax dollars be spent to benefit another community? Especially for one hundred years!!!! I agree with Soap Box that somebody needs to get fired up. My ire is aimed somewhere else.
Maybe the Trustees had better look to see if their covers have been stolen from their beds. (Sorry Soap Box!) I bet they can find them in Canal!
