Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

A Brief History

Posted in: PATA
The comparison to bi-polar like is a most interesting comparison in your reference to another individual, Ms. Ross. It sounds as though you have a lot of experience with such disorders, especially in terms of the manic episodes.

These maniac episodes can be characterized by delusions or hallucinations with the themes of inflated worth, power, knowledge, identity, or a special relationship to a deity or famous person. In the case of the moderate episodes, there is an increase in activity or an impairment of judgment.

There appears to be quite a substantial display of disorders on this site. Paranoia is rampant from the evidence of your membership feeling the need to be protect their identities. Impaired judgment is self-evident in many arguments. It seems to be a challenge for Ms. Ross to focus long enough to answer a few realistic questions. Actually, I don?’t really believe there are many members to this PATA group. Otherwise, why does Ms. Ross feel the need to answer almost every discussion item?

Does anyone remember SMART? A most formidable leader of that group, Tony Lockhart, recently had a very tragic ending to a very disturbed life. Unfortunately, he also took the life of another with him. SMART was a group that represented the ?“Silent Majority Against Raising Taxes?” as Tony first advocated, but then clarified their name to mean ?“Silent Majority Advocating Responsible Taxation?”. The same leader that Ms. Ross credits for PATA?’s start, Bill Miller, was also a pivotal part of SMART in conjunction with Tony Lockhart. This historic association is not good.

Mr. Brinson seems to be the only one of the lot with a good display of judgment. He looks like he is working hard for a cause of wanting to see control in the housing densities permitted in this area. Keep up the good work! You are not alone in your vision for this community. It is just that some people would never desire to associate with a group such as this. I would advise you to find other sources of information as well. Not all of the information on this site is faulty, but it definitely has a taint of unbalance. Use it, but check it for accuracy. Remember the history of the organization you are with.

Good information, let us know

Thank you once again for your response. I would encourage you to bring to light any good information that we miss as it is difficult with family and job responsibilities to constantly seek out documentation of government activities in our community. Your input on where to find it so we can post it on the site would be welcome and you may contact us at our email address to do such.

The city of Pickerington used to have an excellent Web site that was regularly updated with City council minutes and agendas that made it easy to access important public information. Frequently, the agendas were on the site before the meetings.... which made it easier to search for information during non library hours. (they provide minutes to the library every two weeks) With the departure of Susan Pavilkey as Mrs. Bushman's assistant, the updates on the site have fallen behind and I must go to the library twice per month to get current Council meeting minute information and spend several hours reading through the committee minutes also.

Fortunately, Ms. Pavilkey now condenses meeting summaries for the Township in an excellent manner and they are posted nearly immediately on the Township web site so this information is readily accessible to those who must research around family times and work.

Your reference to bi-polar disorder in my response to Mr. Uher and applying it in my case is deserved, I have shown emotion and disgust with Mr. Uher as we have a long communication history that predates this discussion page. My strong use of the word is probably not appropriate in his case but I am finding it difficult to control my emotions as he constantly attacks.

I believe as you do that many people want to control housing growth in this community. Having an organization to watchdog such may be helpful but it is not the only way.... and I encourage you to communicate your opinion on the issue in any way you see fit that will be effective.

Most PATA members do not even log on to this discussion page as they are very busy with family and work issues in addition to advocating for issues they hope to make an impact on. Most members of the community are too busy to look at this too! As a webmaster, I feel a responsibility to respond to questions about the organization so I make the time to check out the discussion pages to fullill this self imposed obligation. Frankly, I have better things to do... but since I volunteered to start this web site, letting it languish is not something I intend to do and I will do the best I can to update it and answer your questions to the best of my ability. You may not like my answers but I am doing the best I can.

If the site serves to stimulate discusion for a positive result, then it has served the purpose.
