Thanks...I think
OK, I took the yelling and screaming approach and you responded with the more mature approach. Where has that gotten us? NOWHERE! We still have the new lights and are getting more. Yes, that's right?…MORE. There are plans to add a traffic light at Hines Road and the entrance to Park Place. God love the people living near there, you know they need them so they don't take their (and their kid's) live in their own hands each and every time they try to get on to Tussing, but does the COMMUNITY need more lights? There's also talk about a light on Refugee near the tracks where those kids were killed.
How about this? Let's ask Daryl Berry where He thinks we should put lights! He's lead us down the right path so far. (Well, he's led us down a path anyway.)
As you are all probably getting sick of my rantings, let me just say this:
It is time for truth.
It is time for change.
His highness the Mayor knows it. His higher highness Mr. B knows it. Her royal majesty Mrs. Bushman knows it. The loyal to a fault Council knows it. The trusty Trustees know it. The School Board bullies know it. Mr. Harding knows it. The Citizens for a Strong?…?…?….know it. I know it and most importantly, you know it.
The powers-that-be are pushing through annexations and rezonings and anything else they can at a record pace. They know they won't survive the next election no matter how much money Mr. B pumps into the elections or how much they think they control the local media. The other developers know the current regime cannot survive. They're striking while the iron is hot.
Hopefully there are a few brave souls out there with the experience, savvy and wherewithal to take a stand. Hang it all out there and run for office. I know, I know, you're saying to yourself, ''Why doesn't SBH put his money where his mouth is?'' Well it's simple. I don't have the experience to run for and hold public office. I wouldn't try and convince anyone otherwise. I'm just a mouthy, fed up taxpayer. I'll gladly do my part to help experienced candidates get elected.
It is time for truth.
It is time for change.
It is not too late to save what is left of our community.
