It now appears that we have a proven leader in the Pickerington weekly news business. In the last couple of weeks of publications the Southeast Messenger has scooped the other two papers with information vital to area residents. While the same information was available to all three weekly newspapers the Southeast Messenger got there first. Their story last week about the initiative petitions that were submitted to the Pickerington City Hall was right on the mark. Now we get this week?’s lawsuit filed by the Township against the City of Pickerington.
Great Job!!! SOUTHEAST MESSENGER!!!

Pursue the Truth
Hey Zorro is your first name Mark? No that doesn?’t work, that would make your middle initial an ?“O?”. Oh forget it, just some PATA humor.
Zorro you?’re right on as we all wait to see what the other two weekly news rags are going to report on this subject we will already have the information at hand because of the Southeast Messenger. I think if I were going to run an ad for a yard sale or maybe to sell my car I would run it in the SE Messenger. The paper covers more area than the two exclusive Pickerington weekly papers and they aren?’t afraid to print both sides of any issue.
On my way to this discussion page I past through the PATA home page and I found most of the information relating to the complaint filed by the township against the City of Pickerington last Wednesday (1/16) at 12:22 PM. It is interesting that these two exclusive papers are always on the trailing edge of our news here in Pickerington. Maybe they should start paying their customers to read their papers.
Oh I forgot! The SNP did report that John Washington was going to resign a month before he actually resigned. They even reported his resignation before John even knew he was going to resign. John thought it was just a rumor. The leading edge of the news was too hard for them to sustain so they fired their reporter. I wonder who called them from 100 Lockville Road about the report?
Freedom of the press is one of our country?’s fundamental rights. The press?’s job is to report on the actual news of the area they cover. They must cover all the sides to be accurate. If they constantly report just the government?’s side then they place our basic liberties in jeopardy. I think the two other Pickerington newspapers have taken the easy route here folks and just let the spin doctor, that Pickerington hired with our tax dollars, write their stories for them.
There is talk that one of these papers has enter into doing the dirty work for those that want to abuse our tax dollars and our public trust. They have basically tried to bully the PATA web site to shut down its public information web page and its discussion page. It is interesting to note that these actions came the very day that the suit was served on the City of Pickerington and the Ohio EPA was getting the last of their public comments concerning the sewer plant expansion. Did this high-ranking newspaper person really know what he and his editor were actually doing? Were they just taking the word of 100 Lockville Road? Did they even know that a suit had been filed? Where they aware that the Ohio EPA was still taking in public comments? They didn?’t have a reporter at this meeting.
Let me quote from the SE Messenger because they did report on the story, Roberts Mapes said, ?“ that the city has not been improper in its dealings with property owners and there has been no irreparable harm done to the plaintiffs.?”
The citizens of this area must decide if they are harmed by these actions not the two other local papers. When they violate the city charter then they do us all harm. When they spend our tax dollars on private corporations with no public notice then we are all harmed. The PRESS must pursue the truth!

Truth?
In my experience the word TRUTH has become a relative term. (Not by my choice)
The very definition leaves a loophole big enough for...
How about focusing upon the words - Actual, Genuine, Accurate, Exact, Precise, Real, and FACT.
I thank the SEM for it?’s recent reporting.

Batter up ....... Pick T/S
Now coming to the plate is the Pick T/S.....
It?’s the bottom of the 7th inning. no on. two outs.... in a 3-0 ball game.....
The wind up, here?’s the first pitch, (limited article on Picktown?’s annexations without any follow-up)..it?’s a weak foul ball --- STRIKE ONE.
The pitcher?’s got a steely look in his eye as he delivers the next offering to the plate (Initiative Petitions coverage)....... a wild haphazard attempt, with no possible connection, from the batter --- STRIKE TWO.
The count stands at 0 and 2. Our home team looks to be in trouble. All day they have had no success in making solid contact with the issues and offerings of the opponents?’ ace hurler
The mound commander confidently offers up his best screw ball (Legal Actions filed against Annexations) ........ the batter doesn?’t even get the bat off his shoulders to attempt a hope of contact --- CALLED STRIKE THREE.
It looks as though the ?“visiting?” SE Messenger Team is in complete control with their issues and offerings today.
At least the coverage on the girls?’ basketball game was good, but I really didn?’t need this reporting for I was in the stands for that contest. Maybe, I need to consider the visiting team as my hometown news source?
