I love a ''good'' discussion!
Thank goodness for this website!!!
We all love rain, when it comes. But when we get floods, people are begging for relief!
Same holds true for Pickerington Police protection. It would be GREAT if we could enjoy Pickerington police without city hall trying to annex the lands that they patrol. But that is fantasyland, unincorporated violet township residents. We live in the Township ONLY and we pay for SHERIFF protection ONLY!!! We chose to live where we live, so we must endure the consequences of our decisions.
I, in no way, am demeaning or belittling the men in Blue, Purple and White. Heaven knows all men in that and similar uniforms have the most important jobs in the free country! I love some aspects of what Pickerington Police bring, as I mentioned in my first posting (safety, protection, etc.) but I will not stand for the other aspect (City Hall encroaching on my neighborhood) that goes with it! This is war people! We can't cozy up with the Pickerington Police and say ''no'' to becoming part of the city.
If you want to be a pert of the city then move. I'm sure you?’ll fell much safer. But I don't want to be a part of Pickerington; I want nothing to do with Pickerington. They?’re running my quite, peaceful, quality of life right into the ground. Am I going to have to move? (Believe me I'm getting my finances together). Am I going to have to take-what-I can-get for my house because living this vicinity has become so unbearable?
And any of you Violet Township residents (unincorporated) with HUGE homes in Violet Township, you'd better listen up: If your paying a high taxes now to the county and schools alone, how much more do you think you'll be paying when Pickerington gets their paws in your wallets? Do the math and see.
You'll never get out of that house what you thought you'd get. It's simple economics. We've got to keep Pickerington at bay. Police projection from the city is a great thing, but not with strings attached.
