Let?’s all celebrate our freedoms and vote today. The higher the turnout, the better our community will be.
And, then let see if we can all work together for a better community tomorrow.
I enjoyed Soap Box Hero?’s Swan Song. And, for the first time, felt a closeness to him or her as we both have a shared compassion for the environment. I too grew up in a rural area and love the hills and trees. I serve on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Alliance for the Environment, am active in the Arbor Day Foundation and currently boycott Exxon gas stations due to their lack of support for the Kyoto Protocol. One of my greatest accomplishments in life is teaching my sons the names of most of the area trees. In my family, we all get upset when trees are cut down. I have supported financially many courses for people in construction to help save trees.
I was a bit disappointed that I was the you-know-who that he did not want to apologize to.
In the spirit of cooperation, let me give some praise to the campaigns of two individuals that I did not support. The first campaign is that of Gail Oakes. As a political scientist, I must compliment Mrs. Oakes on one of the best local campaigns that I have seen in the last 5-10 years. Her signs were among the most attractive I have ever seen and were strategically placed. Her advertisements and flyers were well written and she campaigned on the important issues impacting our schools. As the result of her excellent campaign, I will make the early prediction about noon here on election day, that Mrs. Oakes will be re-elected to our school board. In addition, let me compliment Jeff Fix for a marvelous campaign ?– it was one of the best campaigns for a non-incumbent that I have seen.
Again, let?’s celebrate our freedom and vote today. And, then see if we can work together for a better tomorrow
