For those citizens wishing to take a greater role on the governmental process on this Election Day you might be interested in attending tonight?’s (11/6) Pickerington City Council Meeting. Meeting location and time is ?– 100 Lockville Road, 7:30pm.

The agenda, just released yesterday, includes Ordinance # 2001-123. An ?“Emergency Ordinance?” that among other things proposes,

1. The acceptance of a land donation of 11.5 acres from BGM Development Corporation for the new police station.
2. The City has agreed to contribute $150,000.00 toward the cost of the construction of the roadway through the parcel of land.
3. The City has agreed to waive BGM Development?’s fair share costs for water & sewer services.

It looks like Election Night will bring some of the answers to the questions of our latest Newsletter.

Regarding the Hellwig Farms project
Now an 11.5 acre donation
A 30.5 acre Condo project
An additional 27.3 acres of Apartment project.

Now you have the ability to participate in your Councils meeting and ask questions

Who will finance bring sewer & water to the site? ?– City residents
Who will pay for the roads? ?– City residents
When was the agricultural zoning (and 1993 Land Use Plan for a Business Park) Altered?
Is this the best location?
Etc.

Being a good citizen sometimes means more that punching holes in a card.
