DOES ANYONE KNOW THE OUTCOME OF THE ISSUES THAT PLAIN CITY HAD ON THE BALLOT
THANKS
BRUCE ROOKSTOOL
Plain City Election Results

Great question Bruce ?….

According to the head of the CCATT, the voters of Plain City had a dramatic impact on the future of their community.

On their ballots were (3) Referendums and (1) Initiative.

Each of the referendums dealt with overturning their Councils approval of rezoning issues. These re-zonings involved Homewood, Dominion, & M/I projects.

All of their Referendums to overturn the re-zonings were passed with over 70 approval. (You see ?– their Council didn?’t use the ?“Emergency Legislation?” form of passing the original re-zonings. They also didn?’t use the Pickerington ?“Councilmatic?” ploy of action on an issue without it going to the public process of being open to public discussion within the subcommittees process.) Of course the subcommittee hearing process here is somewhat dubious, in that the agendas of the subcommittees are not available for easy access prior to the meetings and are never in the local Newspapers or on the City?’s web site.

The Initiative, which was to set up a Professional Planning Commission also, passed (nearly 75%).

Additionally the CCATT had set up a PAC (Political Action Committee) so that they could actively campaign about these issues and support candidates that where pro letting the residents be a more decisive voice within their community.

The only PAC you see in our area and on this web site is the continual use of our vehicle of communication by the daughter of the Treasurer of ?“Citizens to Keep Pickerington Schools Excellent and Cost Effective?” Treasurer Oscar Callison, Debra Carlier. Ms. Carlier and Mr. Uher are ?– according to their paid advertisement in the Pickerington Times ?– Sun also members. Ms. Carlier also happens to be the Vice Chair ?– Communications for the Citizens for a Strong Violet Township - Pickerington. This group is Co- Chaired by Mr.?’s Mark Uher and Daryl Berry.

Plain City residents made a ?“clean sweep?” regarding the individual candidates race for their Council and those supported by CCATT.

Only Legally-Operating PAC

Bob,

I have just one correction to your statement, 'The only PAC you see in our area (is the)...Citizens to Keep Pickerington Schools Excellent and Cost Effective'

The correct statement should be the only legally-operating PAC in our area is the Citizens to Keep Pickerington Schools Excellent and Cost Effective.

According to the Secretary of State's office, the law is quite clear. Any group of two or more individuals expending money to influence elections is a political action committee, legally or illegally operating.

I don't know why PATA has refused to answer my questions. Bob, please place your answers publically to the following questions:

Is PATA a group of two or more individuals?

Has PATA spent money? Who is the PATA Treasurer?

Did PATA desire to have an influence in the November 6th elections?

Does the PATA homepage mention any endorsement of candidates by anyone in the November 6th elections?

The 20,000 area voters have the right to know the answers to these questions. Why do you accuse elected official of withholding critical information from the public when you do the same?
Just need your URL

Mark,

I?’d be glad to answer your questions, but since we?’re such a ?“fledgling?” organization (as you keep implying) it would be only more appropriate to get the broader public exposure to your answers on your web site. What was that URL again?

Obviously, my posting to your request is just after 1:20 pm on a workday. I?’m sure your reporting your ?“discussion page?” postings on our site (and all your previous postings that have ?“encouraged?” citizens voting actions) as an in-kind campaign contribution of your own work time and equipment to the election board, or will soon do so.

Glad to know that you?’ve had a chance to talk with Bill. By the way the requested public information still hasn?’t been filled, but I?’m sure Joyce will get around to it.

Bob
