I?’ll try to answer your questions as best as I can based upon the information that I have studied:

1-4. Because they can. They remain as bold and brazen as they want to be because no one can touch them. They remain effectively unchallenged in their actions. Getting Mr. Shaver on Council was a start but without as many candidates as possible to run against the oligarchy (to coin a well-placed word from Mr. Shaver) in the fall of 2003, things WILL NOT CHANGE! I don?’t mean 3 of us versus 3 of them, but TEN of us versus 3 of them.

5. Sorry, I try not to speculate in rumors.

6. Because no one can make them. See first answer.

7. Because they think they are omnipotent. See first answer.

8. What would have been more profitable to them: several grateful residential developers or just one commercial developer? See first answer.

9. Because no one is pressing them to. Finally our friend Maverick has opened that can of vipers in another discussion line. Hopefully someone will help him out there.

10 and 11. Same as the answer to number 6.

See Spartacus, the bottom line is they are so bold and arrogant that they think they are untouchable. When voters elect to make a change to try to rein in the madness, the oligarchy simply overturns the election. You can?’t even recall them because they would continue to reappoint each other back to where they are.

Someone should post the real reason they were so intent on reappointing Maxey to Council. A reader of this forum undoubtedly knows the real reason. Hopefully they will find the guts to post it.

Fantastic Job!

What an outstanding column this has been! I have gleaned more information from this column alone than I have from any other forum on this website. That is not a reflection on the website, just that all the pieces have come together in on easy to understand story line. Congratulations to Mr. Hackworth, Mr. Harding, Ms. Ross, Mr. or Ms. Spartacus and the others for their extremely well written and well thought out postings. No personal attacks or character assassinations.

You might just have found your next newsletter. Keep up the good work.

Yes, but ...

Lisa, thanks for the information regarding the township zoning and such.

Even though the zoning is less homes per acre in the township aren't there far more children attending the school system who live in the township vs those living in the city? I'm sure the city will catch up soon and they are adding to the problem but am I correct or not?

What commercial developments are there in the township that provides a tax base for the school system?

Thanks.

Ted, once again thanks for the information but I think to be fair this needs to be looked at from a different point of view.

Where does the 13% commerical taxes come from? I would imagine from within the city limits. Where are the majority of the residential taxes coming from? Township properties or Non-Pickerington city properties I would assume.

I believe the Mayor numbers are based strictly on city properties, why would he base them on anything else? However I disagree with putting Apartments under commercial. That is just a way of playing with the numbers and one of the reasons I don't put a whole lot of stock in ratios.

I don't have enough information to address your other questions. I am just trying to keep a balanced perspective.

Thanks.
