2001: The Year in Review

Dejavu.... -page 4-

These folks face a difficult challenge in the explosion of homes coming on board with no end in sight. Could this be the same mistake following the construction of our current High School? Dejavu....
Second, we have the Police Station levy of 2000 and the promise of a new facility. After searching we come up with the former Hellwig Farm site. No sewer or water service. No access road and out in left field (if you?’re looking from the center of the city north). The land is ?“donated?” beginning at 11.5 acres, but ending up with 8 or so acres. All it?’s going to cost is a measly little $150,000.00 road to access this station and the Apartments & Condos behind it. Oh, ya, we just need to shell out for the sewer & water to get a mile out there. The donation of BGM lands was of course from one ?– Daryl Berry, who ?“might?” find a benefit from the access road and Sewer & water services for his 250 apartments & 150 condos. It was just a year before the BGM was trying to peddle this parcel off to a Cincinnati firm for Condos/Apartments.

In the words of your original message .....

Perhaps by remembering the past, we won?’t be doomed to repeat it.

I also believe it is beyond the time to hope that things will improve and demand that they must improve.
