Craig Maxey and Dave Shaver

corrected comment

I should have said 89 people out of the 557 registered voters (15.98%) in Precinct J voted last November. 51 votes were cast for Mr. Maxey in precinct J.

Precinct J was the lowest turnout of voters. Maybe if ''J'' had turned out to vote. Mr. Maxey might have taken Parkers seat.

Guess it doesn't matter,

Tim

Shaver & Voting Rights

Tim,

Should City Council also restrict new members from voting for a third of the year just like you and Shaver did to new members of the Republican Club of Northwest Fairfield County?

You and Shaver took our wonderful GOP party back into the dark ages when you resticted voting rights.
missing the point

I personally was more concerned with the point that David Shaver made regarding candidates that were more qualified than Craig Maxey. Once again,I don't think the city councilmen (excluding Shaver) showed good judgement.

Regarding an apology, I think one is due from Mr. Washington to Mr. Shaver and the rest of the community. Why does he think David Shaver should rethink his positions, just because they might be in line with PATA (at least on some points). Obviously, enough of the population agrees with Mr. Shaver or he wouldn't have received so many votes. It's the rest of the council that ought to wake up and realize that citizens want some change and that's why David Shaver was elected.
