Not to anyone who signed mine !!
Once the petitions were explained people made a decision to sign them or not. In a democratic society it needs to be about choice.
Can council say the same about the gifts sent to home owners they potentially wanted zoning or annexation agreements with ?? I wonder.

Here we go again
This is the same tale you spun last time we did petitions. You tried to substantiate your fiction with one or two claims of ''They made me sign it. I didn't understand what I was signing...'' Blah blah blah. Whine whine whine.
It didn't work then and it doesn't work now. When are you going to realize we get smarter each time? We learn from our past and you don't.
Please stop assuming we are stupid!
We are not.
We want change.
We WILL get it.

It goes both ways
Some of you might be taking this the wrong way. This statute goes both ways folks. Please re-read the statute. Especially the part that says, ?“any person to sign or abstain from signing,?”
Have there been any cases in the City of Pickerington where one of these petitions had signatures removed because of threats or harassing phone calls from our duly elected officials? I believe I remember a Jack Bowman saying he was duped and had his signature removed. He is a City hall toadie. Did Jack receive a phone call? Remember the Randy Hughes letter of a January 2001. Remember his comments about petitioners, coming into the city and taking your freedoms away. I have heard reports of phone calls being made by both present and past elected officials making and leaving harassing phone messages on people?’s answering machines. Many times people clam up here in Pickerington because they receive phones calls from of all people the Mayor. Believe me he wasn?’t inviting us to an ice cream social. I understand he used some very bad language for a school teacher. When they are approached again to sign a petition they refuse.
