(Update 1/5/02) The latest annexations ?– more news -
Additions have been made to the ?“Our Pages?” relative to the anticipated ?“COSTS?” of these annexations! Already listed on the ?“Our Pages?” is an estimated tap (and other fee reductions) breakdown of the 362 acres of the Northern annexations.
Heading - NORTHERN ANNEXATION ?– 362 ACRES ESTIMATED COST (pages 1 & 2) Estimated @ $ 1,994,040.00
The 316 acres annexations estimated tap (and other fee reductions) is likewise listed
Heading ?– SOUTHERN ANNEXATION ?– 316 ACRES ESTIMATED COST (pages 1 & 2) Estimated @ $ 1,043,220.00
YES ?– over 3 million dollars of City ?“pre?” annexation commitments. And who do you think is PAYING for these annexation deals?
Passed as ?“Emergency?”.
Passed with higher zoning.
Passed with ?“gifts?” of reduced tap / sewer fees.
On Wednesday (10/24) the Pickerington City Council held a ?“Special Council Meeting?”. As you were home reading the volumes of campaign literature ?– the latest newspapers talking about ?“Commercial Potential?” and the repetitive questions about Violet Township Candidates needing to ?“Cooperate with Pickerington City Officials?”. A different agenda was being considered and actions were taken.
If you thought that annexations were over (over 850 acres of recent residential annexations), you?’re wrong! On October 25th the City of Pickerington file numerous annexations petitions with the Fairfield County Commissioners.
To the South of town an additional 316 acres:
- including the former Weatherall Farm (8185 Farm Properties limited)
- the western section of the former Wirthman Farm plus a thin strip
- The Smith ?– Craig multiple parcels properties behind Jefferson Woods.
There appears to be no commercial potential of these parcels. All are inside the Pickerington Local School District and quite some distance from Rt. 33. These acreage?’s abut up to a number of existing residential locations, including the subdivision of Jefferson Woods. Sewer & Water services were already available from Fairfield County Utilities.
To the North of town an additional 362 acres: within this annexation area are some owners who refused to sign the annexation petition and are being ?“taken?” via ?“hostile annexation?”. The ?“cooperative signers?” are:
- Virginia Homes (sections of the Township previously approved Wellington Park Subdivision.
- Dominion Homes (sections of the Township previously approved and platted ?“Spring Creek?” Subdivision.
- Leonard Schottenstein (Leonard Real Estate)
- Pastor Tim Beardon ?– Sycamore Creek Community Church.
- James Ebright
- Jeffery Ebright
- James Gillilan
There appears to be little commercial potential, other than ''Pickerington's idea of Retail'' i.e. - a fast food joint, that would have come anyway on one of these parcels. All are inside the Pickerington Local School District. These acreage?’s abut up to a number of existing residential locations, including the subdivision of Chevington Village & Countrywood. They are in close proximity Huntington Hills & Melrose. Sewer & Water services were already available from Fairfield County Utilities.
