Everybody does it!!

It appears that there are two anonymous posters (City Hall Toadies) beating the same old drum here. Anonymous number one wants us to ?“migrate north to Reynoldsburg.?” May I call you anon-one? You do have a good idea. Maybe we should go to a few Reynoldsburg City Council Meetings. Maybe some of our Pickerington council members should travel to Reynoldsburg and find out why they (Reynoldsburg) believe you should develop commercial property within your own school district and residential property in the adjoining school district. That is completely the opposite policy in Pickerington. Pickerington develops residential in their own school district and commercial in the Canal Winchester School District with the full support of the Pickerington School Board Leaders (Sigman and Carlier). Now in the same Pickerington wisdom they are pointing to the Wal-Mart and the traffic problems it is causing. I guess we can now say that Pickerington?’s traffic problems are caused by that ODOT traffic signal. That is what they are telling us. It is not because we have 20,000 cars trying to get through an intersection that can?’t handle 10,000 cars. Is the traffic light at Wal-Mart causing the traffic problem on Diley Road? How about Hill Road?

To anonymous number two. May I call you Ethically Challenged? Maybe we are not singling out Mr. Dailey (at least you know how to spell his name) and his contract. Maybe he is just the first one on our list. You say other cities have similar arrangements. I didn?’t think New Rome was large enough to be called a city.

I'd say you're challenged

Why is it that you say anyone who doesn't tear apart city hall (like you) or the people who work for the city must be ethically challenged?

How much do you know personally about Mr. Dailey? How much do you know about him professionally?

How much do you know about governmental entities other than New Rome? If you know anything of any substance that could be brought forward about these issues, then do it! Go to the Ohio Ethics Commission. Get it over with. Have them rule on it.

For now, all you are doing is defaming a person who performs engineering duties for the city. And now that people are inferring that he's just a contractor, that makes him a private citizen. And as a private citizen, he can hold any one of the people assailing him in public and damaging his reputation accountable for damages in a court of law.

So what you're saying is that libel, slander and defamation of character are all o.k., as long as you say so, and as long as a member of the ''community'' takes part in this type of campaign. That's why this forum is no better than the Weekly World News.

Get your facts and case together and then present it to the public. That would make more sense. Let's see the legal precendents in Ohio for this type of case.

Come on. We would all find it very interesting.

Stick to the Issue

Dear Anonymous number two,

I am not sure you were replying to me or someone else. Many of your statements reflect things that were never stated. You state that I think people that work for the city are ethically challenged. Apparently you are a city employee using my tax dollars to respond to these WEB postings. Please do that on your own time. I was responding to an anonymous posting not city employees.

As for the Jerry Dailey thing you seem to want me to attack Mr. Dailey. He is not the problem. It is the city council that has made all of the stupid decisions. So the legal question for Mr. Dailey is that is he a contractor or is he an employee? Either way I can criticize his work because he is spending millions of the taxpayer?’s dollars for projects that are failures.

I like when you begin to lose the argument you perform your ?“Self Righteous Indignation Routine.?” You know they do sell coffee that is decaffeinated same holds true for soda pop. These arrangements have nothing to do with the personal life of Jerry Dailey and you know it. These arguments have nothing to do with the City Hall employees and you know it. They have everything to do with the poor collective decision making ability of our Pickerington City Council and you know that also.

You say that, ?“this forum is no better than the Weekly World News.?” I have never heard of it. If this is no better that the publication you mentioned, then why are you lowering yourself to this level on the Taxpayer?’s time?

Would it be better that those of us that have complaints about this city come to the City Council meetings and speak our minds? We get 5 minutes and everyone else sitting on the other side of the council counter gets an unlimited amount of time to make unfounded remarks about us and others. Please keep in mind that once the public get their comments in they are no longer are allowed to respond no matter how slanderous the Mayor or other council members become. The reason is that the Pickerington City Council members are intellectual Cowards. They would fail in any kind of OPEN debate on their policies and decisions. They only know how to repeat canned political spin. Do you write their spin? If you want to have an open debate about the issues of the day please let me know. I would be willing to go head to head with any of these inept council members. The only rule is that I wouldn?’t accept the Pickerington Chamber of Commerce moderating it.

So when you are sitting there in your little cubical trying to divert the argument again please consider the fact that I know more than I put on this posting. Someday when you least expect it I will provide that information to the public. I would suggest that you do background checks on all of your city employees. You might just have a mole in there. I might just be in the next cubical from you.
