The special interest groups that have been so instrumental is screwing up the PLSD and leaving our school system very near bankruptcy have now turned their collective attention on to Fairfield County, led on the Republican side by Brian Fox. The revitalized Democrats now have in place their leader, Jerry Woodgeard. The two groups are now working in concert to deprive this county of its vote. Both sides will now promote and endorse only candidates favorable to uncontrolled Residential growth. Appointing when they want to out ''Fox'' their challengers.
This has been orchestrated by the special interest folks from Pickerington. Why, because they can?’t do much more damage here and they are beginning to run into voter resistances locally. They are in desperate need of some more suckers. I think they found a whole room full last Wednesday night. There is a bypass being built around Lancaster and there are some GREAT opportunities to make a ?“killing?” on rezoning and loading up their schools down there.
The leader that was leading the charge against this was dethroned last Wednesday by the Pickerington Mafia and those old DeMastry people still angry about Gary going to Jail. And now Mr. Schaffer must face the thousands of dollars that will come against him once the democrats run their appointed candidate against Mr. Schaffer this November. Noticed I say appointed. That means not elected to some of our county voters. I am sure Mr. Schaffer will face unlimited amounts of money in his opponent?’s campaign war chest. However they will need to funnel this money through the State Democratic Party to avoid identifying the donors.
At one time the Lancaster Republicans could raise thousands of dollars with just one phone call to Anchor Hocking. Today where is this industry? The old Anchor plants are about to be closed. After it goes the only commercial property, in the county, will be in Canal Winchester.
The ones now in charge have no interest in developing industry in our county. The state is making it very easy to get to Columbus by building the bypass and designating U.S. 33 as a limited access Highway. This only means that the entire county will have increased taxes in your very near future. First they build the houses and you know they will come. Then you need to build the schools, and then you expand the sewer and the water capacities. All of that comes out of the fees and taxes we all pay. The new home owner?’s don?’t see their costs until years later. Why are we doing this?
Without industry candidates and political parties have no why to out spend and fund the special interest groups. Once these groups have a foot hold in the local government it is almost impossible to pry them out without large sums of money and lots of people working very hard to unseat them. I would suggest that those that think it doesn?’t affect them need to start asking some questions and start acting upon those answers now!
I think it is time that both Democrats and Republicans join their respective parties and start to make things change. In two years the Lancaster Bypass will be completed. Where will all of these new people go to work? This will be a land speculator?’s dream once the county is opened up by the new highway. We all still have time to stop it or at least slow it down. Please act now!
