Directions to the Parade of Home
Directions to the 2003 ?“Parade of Homes?”.
1. Take I-70 East/West to Route 256 (Exit 112).
2. Stop at the traffic light of Route 204 and watch all the cars. There is also a quaint view of our empty retail spaces to the right.
3. Stop at the traffic light to the entrance of Marcus Theatre and view your dinning choices and where your kids can get part-time jobs.
4. Stop at the traffic light at the Turnberry entrances and marvel at the line of twigs qualifying us as a ?“Tree City?”.
5. Use caution moving forward for the upcoming curb cut after the ravine is a real threat.
6. Stop at the traffic light at Cross Creeks and contemplate just how many of these stupid things exist in such a short span.
7. Dodge the construction traffic just down the road from yet another ?“Multi-Use?” wonder of Condo?’s / Apartments on the curb cut by the drive through Beverage Shop.
8. Stop at the traffic light by Brookview and notice the empty World Gym, Art Frame, etc.
9. Stop at the traffic light for Refugee Road and ask for directions at the gas station. No one knows where the Parade of Homes is so ask for the Police Station. The attendant directs you west on Refugee.
10. Drive west on Refugee to the sign ?– still under construction and then hit the Columbus City limits sign so turn around.
11. Come back to Refugee and Route 256 and decide to have lunch at McDonalds, where somebody tells you to keep going south on Route 256.
12. Take a right out of McDonalds and Stop at the Kroger light, noticing more empty retail spaces while a glut of traffic has been heading the other way to Reynoldsburg?’s
Taylor Square.
13. Drive 100 yards and Stop at the Diley light.
14. Continue down Route 256 to the still unused light at Dairy Queen being very cautious as locals are trying to turn both into Pickerington Run and the Post Office, going opposite directions, in the same poorly marked turn lane.
15. Driving south you notice the ample road to the left after the Lutheran Church and before the railroad tracks so you figure this must be it. Turning left you find that the road connects to nothing by little condos. Another U-turn back to Route 256.
16. Again, southbound on Route 256 after bumping over the railroad tracks you come to the famous 4 way light at Columbus and Hill Roads. Finally, a sign directs you to make a left turn however; you?’re too far past the stop bar and have to back up so that opposing traffic can make the turn.
17. Now Eastbound on Route 256 (Columbus Street) you pass through Olde Pickerington.
18. Stop at the light for Center Street.
19. Bump over the railroad tracks again heading away from the center of town to the Water Tower and hang a left.
