A recent story from ESPN, USA Today and the National Enquirer names Pickerington, Ohio as the Monday Morning Quarterback capital of the United States! Congratulations to Pickerington! You also moved up to number 2 in the whining polls.
Here we go again with the second guessing, feigned outrage and public absurdity that always seems to follow a decision made by the public themselves. I will do my best to NOT say I TOLD YOU SO, but I will refer you to the postings of January 14 and 24. I encouraged you to get involved in the boundary process. I warned you what would happen. I foretold the articles now appearing in our local press. I say this to the people specifically that are quoted speaking against the proposal(s) brought forth to the Board by the Boundary Committee. Where were you when we were making the decisions? Why did you wait until now to speak up? If you have so many concerns about 5A or 1 or anything else, why weren?’t you at the Committee meetings making sure that these proposals never made it to the Board?
You see, loyal readers, that the process was fundamentally flawed from the start. You might say it contained fatal errors. You had the same people being (mis)guided by the same expensive consultants interacting with the same Superintendent that produced the same results as other committees. Same, same, same, same! You?’re not happy with the results? Too bad. Get on with your lives. You had a chance to help shape your children?’s future but you chose to leave that to others. Don?’t complain about what you got. There should have been hundreds of parents at each and every meeting. There should have been more meetings with more information demanded from the schools. The City should have had their feet held to the fire to divulge future annexation and development plans. Most importantly, there should have been a complete overhaul of all school boundaries for all schools. You can?’t tell me that Superintendent Superman doesn?’t know where the new elementaries are planned to go can you? Or the new Middle School?
What excuse did you use to not get involved in the Boundary Committee? Not enough time? Other commitments? Use those same excuses now and let the process be completed.
Sorry, I promised myself I wouldn?’t get angry over this. Folks, it comes down to two things as to where Summerfield and Glenshire will go. Sports and Money. The rest of us can go back to work now to bank a little towards the levies to come this fall.
