PR against the People

Posted in: PATA
Hello all...

I just found out about yet another City of Pick boondoggle!

Seems as though City Manager Bushman has hired a PR consultant--actually he was hired BEFORE Mrs. W was expelled--who also just happened to work on the statewide referendum campaign to repeal Senate Bill 5.

This gent, Don Spicer is apparently being paid to attend weekly PR meetings to help fight the City's negative image in the news media.

His rate: $2,000 a month. From what I understand, the City Manager held the first meeting a few months ago. At this meeting, employees were told to work with Spicer to help turn around the public perception of the City, or ''we might all be out of work in 2003.''

From what I am told, he didn't do anything but offer advice. That's a lot of taxpayer dollars, isn't it? Maybe since the City couldn't pay him for his referendum work directly, Mrs. Bushman thought up a new way to pay him. That's a handsome fee, even by downtown Columbus standards.

A consultant being paid to minimize the impact of statements and concerns brought forward by US, the People!

And we're paying for it. Mrs. W., if you are out there, please , tell us more!
