Pickerington Area Taxpayers Alliance

Happy Birthday America!

Posted in: PATA
Happy Birthday America! Let's take this opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices made by and the accomplishments of our forefathers. They were successful in gaining independence from an oppressive government ruled by aloof leaders that thought the answer to all the problems were increased taxes and other restrictions.

So tomorrow, don't just sit there in your Old Navy patriotic tee shirts (undoubtedly made in China) waving your tiny little American flag (also undoubtedly made in China, both thanks to our former Democratic President Clinton) and smile at your elected leaders as they stroll by and tell you how wonderful it is in Pickerington.

Think about the past and what a small group of well-informed citizens were able to do 220-odd years ago. Think about that the had no Internet; not computers; no electricity; no telecommunications; no Freedom of Information Act; and apparently no hope. Their adversaries had all the money, all the lawyers and made all the rules. However, our diligent little band of patriots prevailed.

If you can't remember history, ask your kids. Since they are a perfect 27 out of 27, they can quote you the history chapter and verse.

Our patriotic forefathers beat an entire empire! All we have to beat are some incompetent puppets who can't get elected to anything to save their life unless they have their King count the votes.

God Bless America

Tea with the party?

Yea, if only Thomas Jefferson could see us now! Since his death in on July 4th 1826 the country and the ideals he set forth have slowing eroded until we got to Pickerington. I had a little time this morning to read the local rags for the news of the weak. For those that have small children please have some parental control over what your children read. I think the two exclusive weakly papers here in Pickerington have done their part in publishing a gossip magazine complete with sex and crime. Unfortunately their subject is not high power celebrates it is just common City Hall employees.

Let?’s all take a very long hard look at what the people in charge at City Hall are doing with your tax dollars. First they hire a Commutations Mis-Director. One of her duty is to write copy against City Hall political opposition then have citizens of this City and those connected closely with city sign the letters as if they had written them and send them to the editors. Mrs. Bushman admits that, ?“they just provided the information to the residents?”. Have they been also providing the copy to the local press who on many occasions are too lazy to question the opposition? Is this what our fore fathers wanted with our rights of free speech?

The deposed Communications mis-director claims that the city awarded a contract to old time friends for the Police communications. Where is our City Councilmen? Aren?’t they supposed to review and check out these contracts? Isn?’t Mr. William Wright the chairman of the safety committee? The Pickerington Police Chief simply states, ?“Experience isn?’t everything.?” Does Mr. Fuller place the same value of experience on his Police Officers?

The Communication Mis-Director was also dismissed because she didn?’t attend assigned classes. She didn?’t attend three classes paid for by the city. Hello! She was assigned more classes when she didn?’t attend the very first class? Who is her supervisor? Didn?’t she report to the City Manager? Didn?’t they get a certificate for attendance or one for completion of the class? If she actually had attended what kind of feedback did the city get? If she had attended but slept through the classes would she still have been fired? This is just plan poor management on the part of the City. The City paid a total of $4,585 in three different occasions with little or no feedback until months later.

Pictures at eleven

Now please have your children leave the room. The communications Mis-Director has a PC monitor that faces out into the hall way so anyone walking by could see her screen with little or no effort. First we have a police chief that doesn?’t value experience. Then he says she committed a crime. It was right there in front of him. What is the Chief, talking about? Is it the naked pictures of the Communications Mis-director? Were these pictures on the hard drive? Or where they at the web site, ?“Adult Friends?”? Aren?’t the chief and the weakly rags invading this former employee?’s privacy? Why did the Chief make these statements if he didn?’t find anything to charge her with? Can you imagine our Police Chief in a murder investigation? Let me remind everyone that this Chief has costs the city $50,000 just a year or so ago because he ran his mouth about a former Pickerington employee and the employee sued and won. That case will be minor compared to that one but, ?“experience isn?’t everything?”.

This employee got fired because she trusted the Mayor. She actually expected the Mayor to be concerned about how and where our tax dollars were being spent. She took what she saw as problems to Hughes and he betrayed her. The Mayor doesn?’t care where your tax dollars are being spent and the City Manager says they have been up front with that. They aren?’t afraid to tell you they are crooks.

Chief Fuller talks about the Director of Mis-Communication trying to extort 90 days extra pay from the city if she didn?’t go public with her story. Now stop and think for a minute of who is likely extorting whom. She went to the Mayor with her concerns. Instead of being concerned about these allegations he ignored her and had Bushman fire her to shut her up. The Mayor wanted her shut up because it further exposed their eroding public credibility.

The director wasn?’t in the union. She wasn?’t an hourly employee protected by federal law. Mrs. Bushman could have simply fired her with no explanation given. I am sure that is how this all started but the director of mis-communications wasn?’t going to take the firing that easy. So they punish her for her information leak to the press. In fact, they are smearing her so she can never get another job here in the area. Is that the purpose of the Mayor? Rather than justify what the city has claimed, I see a lot of holes in Chief Fuller?’s case. I believe a court would also.

It is sad that our great country has come from such great men, like Thomas Jefferson, and we have evolved to the sorry state we find down at 100 Lockville Road. Our enemies could never do the harm to us that our current city government is doing to us this very important anniversary.

?“..certain inalienable rights?”

Soap Box good to see you back fighting for the certain inalienable rights that we put into words 226 years ago, yet mean so little if the citizens don?’t put them into action.

Today is also the 177th anniversary of both John Adams and my deaths and I know that I have been turning over in my grave watching your community?’s antics. I was appalled that so many of your elected (and I use that term very loosely) local officials attempted the excuse of this anniversary of the birth of liberty and our nation?’s future democracy to grandstand with their ?“advertisements?” in one of your local ?“weakly?” newspapers.

Seeing what exists on this web site I?’m sure that the folks of PATA have got it all documented.

I see that John has likewise been concerned about your local issues and I always look forward to John?’s ability to expose a wrong.
