I think what it is important to note is that our City Council members rely on city staff to provide accurate and responsible information for things like budgets, for example.
So, when you consider the City staff and their boss, Ms. Bushman, you can see why there might be problems with the raw data to begin with.
This is certainly no excuse for Council to retain unfit, vindictive and unethical leadership, but it does provide some clarity.
Council has known about many of the issues raised by PATA for some time. However, instead of doing the hard work to fix some of these problems, they would rather apply blame to a group of people (PATA), whose members are residents voicing their concerns.
What local officials need to heed, is that the members of PATA--and a growing number of people outside its membership have valid, serious concerns about what's happening here. And those concerns should be heard, not ignored.
