The City Manager from Hell

7-7-2001
For anyone out there who is still naive enough to think that Pickerington's Mayor and Council think for themselves...get with the program. These guys are all mindless puppets of the city manager from hell. The city manager who manipulates things so that only other people who are willing to be her puppets serve on all citizen boards and commissions. The city manager who constantly covers her butt and keeps her job by putting her twisted, evil slant on everything (i.e., constant lies) and groveling and sucking up to and flattering the council and the mayor. The city manager who abuses most of the city employees EXCEPT her close personal friends...who can do whatever they please (including only showing up for work about 20 hours/week while collecting full-time salaries...of course, the manager spends much of her ''work week'' getting her hair and nails done and her legs waxed at a local beauty shop). The city manager who crucifies any city employee who DARES to express a differing opinion; she then considers them enemies and HATES them and spends much of her work week working to get them fired or treating them so badly they resign (this has happenened with at least 4-5 good employees in the last four years) or she maneuvers and manipulates her puppet mayor to fire them himself--this happened recently with the mayor's secretary...who the city manager HATED and was working for years to get fired, and she is only the most recent example. Of particular delight to the city manager is when the mayor allows her to fire city employees herself...she then goes out to lunch with her best friend the personnel director and celebrates the ''victory'' over another ''enemy.'' The only way to rid the city of this tyrant is to make sure council gets a majority of people elected who are smart enough to not be snowed by the city manager's manipulative BS and who take their jobs seriously. Then, when the current puppet mayor comes up for re-election, vote him out and get someone in there who knows the score. Someone who will bounce the city manager from hell back to wherever she came from, and put someone in the position besides the current police chief, so that this wicked fairy tale can end and Pickerington can regain its integrity.

You're all correct

July 7, 2002

As a friend of Ms. Watiker, I have to say you are all correct.

The Police Chief is, among other things, accusing her of ''theft in office'' in the newspaper. However he is not charging her. What an excellent way to discredit a former employee who has a fair amount of knowledge of their wrongdoings.

The ''theft'' never occurred. I know what did occurr in Ms. Watiker's case, though.

Because of family illness and deaths, she was not able to attaend all of the LEADS classes. The classes instructor, Sue Rowland, told her she understood the situation, but wanted Susan to experience the class fully, and told her she could retake it AT NO CHARGE this Fall.

The Computer Workshop, that offers the classes that she allegedly ''stole,'' offers free retakes within one year of taking the class. So any employee they wish can now be sent to those classes, and no money will be lost.

It looks as though the Chief of Police might not have all the facts--or he doesn't want to share them all.

And shame on ThisWeek in Pickerington for reporting the Chief's allegations of ''theft'' as the truth. They didn't even bother to investigate.

At least the Times-Sun provided details about the Chief excerpted from Ms. Watiker's letter to the editor that cast fair suspicion on his motivations in this case.

I hope she is consulting an attorney right now, and sues the Dispatch (ThisWeek) and the City of Pickerington both for defamation. Trust me when I tell you all that it really ''ain't over until its over.''

Citizenry becoming enlightened

There are very few regular viewers and participants of this web site that would find doubts in the assessments that the City of Pickerington officials have not presented all of the facts in the matter of the past Public Information Director.

City Officials historically avoid and present as the ?“whole?” story very slanted, tainted viewpoints on virtually every issue. By the bully pulpit of their ?“command?” they have done a great deal of damage to individuals and the citizenry at large.

With the very nature of the multiple options of our regions print media?’s coverage upon this matter it continues to illuminate more and more people?’s clarity as to which press formats are the ?“favorite?” methods of these City Officials mode of dissemination to present their tainted issues.

It?’s time that people learn more about so many of the ?“goings on?” and that a true journalistic approach be used beyond the perpetual he (she) said, she said. Bonafide, substantiated facts presented to the readers and the public are what enlightens the citizenry and ?“frees?” everyone from the command of the few.

straight to it

Without dancing around the issue...It seems that you are saying that This Week in Pickerington is publishing City spin and that their reporter is a regular conduit for such ''information.'' (letters to the editor included. Including the Amy ''Stank''sic (it is Stang) intentional name mispelling by councilman Parker in TWIP letter to the editor. I did notice that all these letters were signed by councilpeople or their close friends and fiances when they were published and this did not give any creedence to the WIDE public support for city positions as the city would like the community to think!)

If the editors of This Week are checking in here, the public is getting wind of these tactics as it has become glaringly obvious as of late if you compare the papers. It is time for a reporter change.

I am are sure this is city spin.Oh I'm sorry...INFORMATION. The sewer expansion article was pure spin. A number of citizens have written to the EPA requesting a second public hearing about the expansion, they have not gone public with their letters about such at this time but you know the city has wind of it and is spinning out that the expansion is a done deal through This Week newspapers. The problem is that the expansion is not approved yet so we are lowered to reporting ''the expectation of success in receiving permission'' Give me a break. And ''Everyone is in agreement'' from Joyce Bushman. Everyone is not in agreement. That is why citizens are requesting another public hearing and an investigation into the operation and financing of the current facility.

Since MRS. W cannot provide the spin anymore, Joyce will be in her glory inking these 'information releases!

A round of golf for everyone!

By not dancing
