You gave me some advice on 8.10.02 under the heading Please Mark. I will return the favor.
In my opinion, you need to tone down the rhetoric and beef up your facts. In today?’s political climate, terms such as corruption and liars fall on deaf ears ?… those terms are overused. To be more credible, you need to come across more reasonable and objective to accomplish your goals.
I also encourage you to build bridges to the powerful and influential school community here ?… teachers, administrators, PTO persons, athletic/music/academic boosters, sport clubs members, levy supporters and their allies & neighbors ?… nearly 50% of the electorate in PLSD. Please understand that THIS COMMUNITY DOES VALUE what happens to OUR football team, what test scores OUR young ones obtain, and what parade OUR band marches in. Whether you like it or not, the fact is more people attend a Friday night football game than receives a PATA newsletter. That fact that Canal humiliated our team in 1982 does matter to the 650 people who gathered yesterday as part of the Pickerington Quarterback Club. Our schools ?… and the accomplishments of our students ?… are the heart and soul of this community.
If you alienate this large segment of our overall community ?– as is the tradition in this discussion area on this website ?– the accomplishment of your objective will be far more difficult (though not impossible). And, I don?’t think it is in the best interests of your objectives or mine to have this boxing match in public. I hope you take my advice in the constructive manner in which I intended it.
